Digital Infrastructure Rank

Never choose between affordability and connectivity.

The Digital Infrastructure Rank evaluates a destination's entire digital ecosystem - not just headline internet speeds, but the full infrastructure that determines whether you can run a modern digital life and career without interruption or compromise.

The Problem

In a digital-first world, connectivity isn't a luxury - it's the foundation of your income.

A city might be cheap, Instagram-worthy, and visa-friendly - but if the Wi-Fi cuts out during client calls, the power goes down twice a week, and the nearest coworking space is an overcrowded Starbucks, it is a non-starter for anyone who works online. Traditional platforms don't account for any of this. The DIR was built to give digital nomads and remote workers a rigorous, ground-level assessment of whether a destination can actually support their digital lifestyle.

Why It Matters

The DIR gives you a complete picture of digital infrastructure quality - from the speed and reliability of fixed and mobile internet to the availability, quality, and density of coworking spaces. It factors in power reliability, digital government services, and the size of the local tech community, because the infrastructure around you matters as much as the pipe into your apartment.

Uptime percentages, outage frequency, and peak-hour degradation

3

Coworking Space Density

Number of quality coworking spaces per 100k population

4

Power Reliability

How We Think About This Index

Methodology

ISP benchmark data from global speed testing networks is cross-referenced with community-reported real-world performance to identify gaps between advertised and actual speeds. Power reliability data comes from grid operator reports and community incident tracking. Coworking density is mapped and scored for quality, not just quantity. All metrics are weighted by their importance to remote work productivity.

No formulas are published publicly. Our models are proprietary and continuously refined.
